Falcons at United Energy

In March 2014, a nest box was installed on the chimney of the heating plant. A falcon pair was present in the area yet they ended up nesting on a ledge of the boiler room rather than the nest box as its installation was too late for that years nesting period. At a height of 40m, this nest site was probably the lowest nesting site of the Peregrine falcon on a human construction site, yet the pair successfully raised three young. In 2015, however, the pair moved to the nest box.
